The U16 Girls Cluster team (The Randoms) played Bury Vixens away today. It was a great game against a good side.

The Randoms started well but by half time they were 17-0 down to the home side. The girls dug deep in the second half and played with true spirit and determination. With some good driving work and support from the forwards, great evasive running from the backs and continued pressure they managed to score a good try under the posts.

The Vixens managed to score 2 more try’s by spreading the ball wide. The Randoms continued to work hard and from continued pressure on the Vixen’s line they were awarded a scrum and a strong pick and go from the number 8 lead to the 2nd try. The vixens managed to get another try in front of the posts from an offside penalty. A final determined effort from the Randoms lead to a try under the posts in the dying seconds to close the match 34 -15. A massive improvement in play compared to the previous game. The girls are growing in confidence. Bring on our next fixture! Players of the Match for the Randoms were Anisha in the backs for her strong running at centre and Isobel W from the forwards for being instrumental in securing the ruck ball and being everywhere through out the game.
