In a fiercely contested rematch, the Ely Tigers U15s faced Cambridge for the first time since the heartbreak of last season’s cup final defeat. Determined to settle the score, Ely took to the field with passion and focus, despite suffering a couple of significant last-minute injuries.

The Tigers came out firing, scoring a superb converted try early on to seize momentum. They quickly followed up with another, racing ahead to a 12–0 lead. Cambridge responded with determination, clawing back a try before halftime, but Ely maintained control, heading into the break 17–5 up.

The second half saw Ely extend their advantage with another well-worked try, but it came at a cost — more injuries left the bench depleted and players forced to step into unfamiliar positions. Cambridge took full advantage, mounting a spirited comeback that brought them within just two points.

In the dying minutes, the Tigers’ defence was tested to its limit. Every tackle, every ruck, every clearance mattered and the boys stood tall. With sheer grit and teamwork, Ely held on to secure a hard-fought 26–24 victory, reclaiming bragging rights over their noisy neighbours and proving their resilience once again.

A memorable win was built on heart, teamwork, and the determination to right the wrongs of last season. Well done, Tigers!
